The City of Bowie will host a rabies and microchip clinic at City Hall. Dr. Alison Mocko of Bowie Spay & Neuter will be on site to provide rabies vaccines and microchips. This event is first come, first serve, and we will end at 1PM or when we use all the available vaccinations.
Is your cat or dog is due for a rabies vaccination or in need of a microchip? The City of Bowie is hosting a free Rabies and Microchip Clinic at City Hall.
Please read the rules before attending:
• All dogs must be on leashes and all cats must be in carriers, with one adult handler per animal.
• Adults should be in control of their animal at all times.
Children are not allowed to hold the leash or carrier while at the clinic.
• Please do not bring your dog on a retractable lead. They should be on a non-retractable flat leash for their safety and the safety of others.
• Animals that are unwell will not be accepted for vaccination or microchip.
• Animals displaying symptoms of illness, contagious ailments, or in very poor condition need to be seen at a veterinary office.

If your pet is not already microchipped, this is a great opportunity to get one for them. Our Animal Control officers are able to reunite pets with their owners within a day, sometimes within the hour, when they have a registered microchip to scan. Microchips are a good failsafe to have in case a collar or tag falls off. It can be scanned at veterinary practices, shelters, and by local Animal Control officers. While they are not a GPS tracker, each number is unique to each pet and dramatically increases the chances of finding your pet should it run away.
