🏄🏽🚤🌊 Join the SUP Flotilla at the First-Ever Christchurch River Pageant! 🌊🚤🏄🏽
We’re so excited to have been invited to host the SUP Flotilla for the very first Christchurch River Pageant next Saturday, 16th August – and we’d love YOU to join us!
If you’ve got a paddleboard (or can borrow one!) come and be part of this fun, family-friendly celebration on the water.
Expect a river full of colour and action – boats, rafts, dragon boats, kayaks, paddleboards – all making their way downstream in one big festive parade!
🎭 Fancy Dress? Yes Please!
Totally optional, but the more creative the better – there’ll be prizes for the most brilliant outfits.
📍 Meeting Point: Concrete jetty outside Tuckton Tea Rooms at 11:45am for a safety briefing.
🕛 On the Water: Ready to join the flotilla at 12 noon.
We’ll be following the civic launch, dragon boats, and Ianthe the historic sailing boat, making our way downstream to the finish point at The Quomps opposite The Boathouse.
From there, you can:
* Paddle back upstream to the start point
* Or carry on for a longer paddle if you fancy an extra adventure!
🚤 Safety boats from the Sea Cadets, Sea Scouts, and MVS will be on the water, making sure everyone’s safe and happy.
💙 This is all for a great cause – the event raises funds for Hengistbury Head Outdoors, a community benefit society working to bring the Hengistbury Head Outdoor Education Centre back into use for the community.
So grab your board, dress up if you want to, and let’s fill the river with colour, smiles, and paddles in the air!
RAFT OPTION – We have spaces on an inflatable raft joining the flotilla if any of you fancy joining drop me a message
MAGA SUP OPTION – We also have use of a MEGA SUP that can fit up to 10 paddlers on it, if you and/or your friends would like use of this drop me a DM and if its available you can use it
