Community Activism With David Symes of Mencap Session 2

David Symes is Activism Coach for the South of England at Mencap.

I will visit to share some information about the workshops and ongoing support I can offer to your group. Every group is different, so we can tailor the support, workshops, or coaching to your specific needs and capacity.

My job is to help empower and upskill local people to campaign on the issues that matter to them. I usually work with groups through a series of friendly and interactive workshops:

Workshop Two: Campaign Planning (60 minutes)

If a local issue has stood out from Workshop One, we explore that issue together
We ask the question: “What would success look like?”

Community Mapping (30 minutes)

We explore:
Who would support the campaign?
Who could influence the change we want to see?
