Blending comedy, vaudeville, clowning, and meta-theatrical play, BURNING BLUEBEARD reimagines the 1903 Chicago Iroquois Theatre fire from the perspective of the performers who were there. Told by artists to audiences, the piece is both a reckoning and a love letter—an exploration of why we gather, what we risk in live performance, and how theater holds us together in moments of joy and catastrophe.
Directed by Amanda Berg Wilson, The Catamounts transform the Carsen Theater into a space where audience and artists exist together, creating a playful, haunting, and deeply communal theatrical experience.
