Author Ted Rulseh will share stories from his lifetime of angling – including the tale of the $100,000 bass – at the Boulder Junction Public Library on Thursday, August 7th at 7pm in the Boulder Junction Community Center, 5392 Park Street.
Rulseh will read from and discuss his new book, You Shoulda Been Here Last Week, published by Cornerstone Press. The stories cover multiple fishing experiences – successes and failures, moments of wonder, humorous incidents, treasured times with friends and family, and more – on the lakes and streams of Wisconsin.
“You’ll hear about the spousal strife over the keeping of live bait in the kitchen refrigerator,” said Rulseh, who lives with wife Noelle on Birch Lake in Oneida County. “The moment my daughter Sonya really learned to fish. The search for the elusive Luny Frog. The magic of Opening Day. And the absolutely true story of a very expensive fish.”
While offering his own stories, Rulseh will invite library patrons to share their fond memories of times with rod and reel in hand.
Rulseh, an avid fisherman and advocate for protecting inland lakes, is also the author of two other books: A Lakeside Companion, an introduction to lake life and lake science; and Ripple Effects, describing the threats to inland lakes and what can be done to protect them. He is president of the Oneida County Lakes and Rivers Association and has a website and blog at
https://thelakeguy.net.
This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Rulseh will be selling and signing books after the presentation. For questions and further information, please call the library at 715-385-2050 or email
