The Boulder Junction Public Library presents a Book Talk with author Suzie Bronk Hunt on Monday August 11, 7 pm, at the Boulder Junction Community Center. She is the author of the books Weathering the Storm, 50% Chance of Sunshine, and Rose Mary’s Run.
Putting words on paper and sharing stories has been a part of Suzie Bronk Hunt’s life for as long as she can remember. As a part of two university news bureaus, she was able to write about fascinating scientific research involving subjects like baboon-to-human liver transplants and how radiation travels through the atmosphere. Hunt fulfilled a college aspiration, and one of her parents’ fondest wishes, when she became a newspaper columnist and reporter. Creating enlightening features about her fellow citizens is a joy.
She is currently a contributing writer for the St. Tammany Farmer/www.nola.com. She has also been published in various publication such as the Jackson Sun, Tennessee Alumnus magazine and Slidell Magazine.
After decades of writing for various publications, she added novel author to her resume about six years ago. Her books are based in fictitious small towns and tell the stories of people like you and your neighbors, about the issues in their lives and their hopes for a better future.
In addition to her writing career, Hunt is a wife and mother, a past Mardi Gras Queen, an active community volunteer, a realtor, and the founder of an award-winning synchronized lawn chair brigade. She has been a card-carrying, Die-Hard Chicago Cubs fan since 1984. The people who cross her path each day provide the flavor for the captivating small-town chronicles she creates. She holds a B. S. degree in Communications from the University of Tennessee at Martin.
Hunt lives in Southeast Louisiana with her husband Jay and a passel of dogs.
This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Suzie will be selling and signing books after the program. For questions and further information, please call the library at 715-385-2050 or email
