Portraits on Location - LIVE with Kyle Valla and Canon

Join Kenmore Camera and Canon representative Kyle Valla for a morning portrait workshop out in the field. We will meet at the for a morning portrait workshop in this beautiful open-space park setting.

Kyle will cover the following:

• Basic posing
• Lens choice
• Camera settings
• Lighting techniques in challenging conditions

Canon will provide a selection of sample cameras and lenses to use during this event, but all brands are welcome. Lens recommendations to bring are one or more of the following: 24-70mm, 70-200mm, 85mm, 50mm, or 35mm, with an aperture ranging from f/1.2 to f/2.8, which are great for creating beautiful bokeh. But whatever you have will work.

Plan to arrive a little early if you are checking out a lens. Supply is limited, so please bring a lens along.

About your instuctor: Kyle Valla's love for image making began over two decades ago while learning black and white film photography in high school. After graduating college with a fine arts degree with a concentration in photography, he began a wedding, portrait and event photography business while simultaneously working in the region’s camera stores.

After more than 13 years working in camera stores in Oregon and Washington, he joined Canon in 2019 as the northwest sales representative. Kyle loves teaching and sharing his passion for capturing memories and the gear used to create these images.
