This meeting is a discussion and feedback session about the status of the Daniels-Finegold v. MBTA settlement agreement. Since its signing in 2006, the agreement has resulted in sweeping accessibility improvements that have benefited all riders.
While more work remains, Independent Monitor Judge Patrick King, the plaintiffs, and the MBTA are in discussions about the future of the agreement as the MBTA approaches substantial compliance with its original commitments.
This public meeting will be an opportunity for riders to share feedback about the MBTA’s compliance with the settlement directly with Judge King, Greater Boston Legal Services, the Boston Center for Independent Living, the Riders’ Transportation Access Group, MBTA General Manager Phillip Eng, and the MBTA Department of System-Wide Accessibility.
Note: This meeting is focused on bus, subway, and Commuter Rail accessibility, not on The RIDE.
