The Nicodemus Homecoming Emancipation Celebration (NHEC) Planning Committee invites you to the 147th Annual Homecoming Celebration in the historic town of Nicodemus, Kansas. Join us as we honor the legacy of Nicodemus’ founders—formerly enslaved African Americans who established the town in 1877 as a beacon of hope in the West.
This family-friendly event is a weekend filled with free entertainment and provides an opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the perseverance and strength of Nicodemus’ people and their lasting impact on the community.
