Boxing Day and New Year's Day Walk
Dear Walkers.
Shaz is leading a walk from West Wittering to East Head on (Friday) Boxing Day 26th December. She has also booked a table for 10 people for lunch in the Witterings which is dog friendly.

Don’t park in the pub car park even if you are intending to eat after the walk as they have cameras that may issue you a penalty ticket if you leave your car and don’t return for a couple of hours. Please let Shaz know if you want to join the walk and or the lunch as she may be able to increase the number eating if she has enough notice. It will be a flat walk taking in the local area and the sandy beach going towards East Head.
NEW YEARS DAY
Eartham Walk Thursday 1st January 2026
Peter and I would like to lead a walk on New Years Day (Thursday 1st January 2026) starting from Eartham Woods Car Park (what 3 words ///edit.ethic.upper).
The car park may be busy, but please avoid parking in the area reserved for horse boxes and share lifts if possible.
Meet at 11.45 ready to set off at 12.00 noon, an hour later than usual, so you can see the New Year in.
From the car park we take a footpath into the woods towards Slindon. The walk is approximately 5 miles long, mainly through beech woods with the Roman Road, Stane Street, running through the forest. The route, led by bridleways and footpaths, is part of the Monarch's Way, but might be muddy, so please wear suitable footwear.
For lunch I have booked 12 places at the George in Eartham, at 2.00pm. Places are available on a first come first served basis, so please let us know as soon as possible if you wish to join us for lunch, or just for the walk.
