Our next Warrior Path MMA Progression Program Level 1 will start soon! We are limited to 11 spots (due to equipment). If you've ever wanted to learn the basics of Muay Thai, then level 1 will have you covered! Any experience level is welcome. The main rule is that you must come in humble.

What will we cover?
The Normal West Boxing Club MMA Progression System is something I like to call the Warrior Path (ŕšŕ¸Şŕšŕ¸ŕ¸ŕ¸˛ŕ¸ŕ¸ŕ¸ąŕ¸ŕ¸Łŕ¸). The idea is to do this all the way through with a partner and persevere together. Do battle together. Do life together. Form a bond that will last beyond the 16 lessons and be the warriors that our families need us to be for them.
It is based on the idea that the best defense is an overwhelming offense, but not offense the way it is typically taught. We will use Filipino Boxing (Panantukan) as an offensive defense to defang the snake. Then, we will use our offensive combos to pick apart our opponent. The lessons in each unit start at the basic elements and then work up to the combo goals by the end of the unit. We want the combos to be so engrained in the muscle memory that when the brain is overwhelmed, the body will do the job it has been trained to do.
This system will help to train for potential ring situations. This is not meant as a street combat system, though it would be effective for empty hands combat situations.
And let me be clear on this â these combos can be 13 steps long. Is it possible that you could pull off all 13 in a match? Maybe if youâre Guro Scott. Is it probable for most people? Not really. The idea is that these combos give you such muscle memory that your body takes over at any given point that your brain gets overloaded. So, embrace the brain overload that will happen during this training. Itâs for a reason.
Here's the overall schedule:
Lessons 1 and 2 â Establishing the basics
Lessons 3 and 4 â Muay Thai Four Counts (A.K.A. Heck Week)
Lesson 5: Boxing defense and first combo basics
Lessons 6 â 8: Panantukan Counter Punch Defense of jab with two different Muay Thai offensive options.
Lessons 9 â 12: Panantukan Counter Punch Defense of jab/cross with two different Muay Thai offensive options.
Lessons 13 â 16: Panantukan Counter Punch Defense of jab/cross with two different Muay Thai offensive options.
