Speakers
Mark Marshall, Chief Strategy Officer and Co-Owner
During Mark Marshall’s 30+ years in nonprofit and philanthropic leadership, he’s worked with many of the great organizations in higher education, healthcare, human services, and others across the nonprofit landscape. For him, philanthropy is ennobling and powerful in its ability “to help donors see what they can do in the world and help organizations to inspire donors to act—both are incredible ways to help make the world a better, kinder, more just place.”
After several years as a team leader at BWF, Mark joined the BWF principal team as an owner. Mark is fiercely proud of the company that BWF has become and continues to strive to reach new heights. In his role, he provides leadership to the consulting teams and designing a comprehensive approach to meet and exceed client needs and expectations.
At the firm, Mark’s focus is on comprehensive/capital campaigns, strategic planning, leadership and team coaching, and institutional/organizational growth through philanthropy. Many of his projects have culminated in helping organizations achieve transformational growth by figuring out how to achieve their full potential, push limits in a sustainable manner, and create a bold vision that inspires others.
Kari Clark, Associate Vice President
While drafting trusts as a new attorney, Kari discovered the power planned giving has in making a difference in the life of the donor, the recipient nonprofit, and the community. Her career transitioned into 25 years of fundraising and leadership experience in the nonprofit, healthcare, and education sectors. Kari has a passion for developing leadership, building a culture of philanthropy, and elevating the practice of governance. In her work as a consultant, she is able to engage all three of these disciplines to help nonprofits flourish and strengthen the impact they have on the world.
As an associate vice president at BWF, Kari utilizes her wealth of experience including her expertise in planned giving, principal gifts, campaign planning, and board development to support and guide nonprofits primarily located in the Midwest region.
