Maggie Goodman’s PUPPET THEATRE PRESENTS

Pura Belpré’s, “The PEARL NECKLACE”
As part of Summer Reading’s “COLOR OUR WORLD”

Pura Belpré was the first Puerto Rican Librarian in New York City. In 1920 she came to her sister’s wedding in NYC and stayed. She dedicated her life to children’s literacy, and was the first to research and write bilingual collections of Puerto Rican stories and folktales.

The Pearl Necklace is one of these stories. Bringing a story to life with puppets is exciting and special, and something you don’t want to miss! See you Friday July 11, 10:30 am. We’ll also make puppets to take home!
