YOUR 2 IN 1 ADVENTURE:
BAG A MUNRO AND PRACTISE YOUR NAVIGATION SKILLS WITH A PROFESSIONAL MOUNTAIN LEADER ON YOUR SIDE.
Practice is the key to navigating well in the mountains, the more you practice, in a variety of environments, the more experience you will have to draw on if things go sideways on your adventures.
We at AP Mountaineering are big advocates of exploring the mountains and getting off the beaten track but doing so with the right skills behind you to be safe on your adventures.
These days are designed around enjoying time out in the mountains while we focus on honing your navigation skills and practicing what you have learnt on navigation courses. Our goal is to give you the confidence to go out into mountainous environments on your own.
ON THE DAY
We will run through & refresh the various navigation techniques you have learnt in training including:
Map setting
Map Symbols
Orientating the map as you walk
Contour Interpretation
Timings
& Bearings
As well as these, and plenty more, we will also look at mountain navigation strategy. Choosing the right navigation technique for the right situation is a key skill in the mountains.
