Buah keluak — a black nut native to Indonesia — is an iconic ingredient in Peranakan cuisine, celebrated for its deep, earthy aroma. It takes the spotlight in Ayam Buah Keluak, one of the most beloved dishes in any Peranakan feast. Both the chicken stew and the creative fried rice variation are must-tries when dining in traditional Peranakan restaurants.

To round off the session,enjoy a live demonstration of Kuih Sagu Lapis, a colourful and chewy layered dessert — the perfect sweet ending to your Peranakan meal.

* How to prepare the meat mixture and place back to the Buah Keluak seed.
