Zora’s Wish: A Dinner Theatre Experience

Playwright Marc Raby, brings us a vibrant, funny, and soul-stirring new one-act stage play. Zora’s Wish tells the story of a young Black woman stuck behind the counter of her family’s soul food restaurant with a dream in her heart she’s too scared to chase.

Set entirely inside Miss Essie’s Diner, the play is rich with rhythm, laughter, and truth. It’s about family. About legacy. About what happens when you dare to want more—and what it costs to say that out loud.

Zora’s journey unfolds among fried fish, funny customers, rolled napkins, generational tension, and a secret open mic that just might change everything.
