About the event

Understanding Relapse Risk: Recognition and Response - CE EVENT
Get ready to dive deep into recognizing and responding to relapse risks - it's going to be informative and engaging.

About this Event

This 2-hour continuing education training examines relapse prevention through a neurobehavioral and clinical process-oriented lens. Participants will explore relapse as a progressive pattern of internal dysregulation and behavioral shifts, rather than a single event, with attention to how stress, emotional vulnerability, and learned coping patterns increase risk over time.

The training emphasizes early identification of risk indicators, including emotional, cognitive, and behavioral warning signs, and highlights practical intervention strategies to support patients before substance use occurs. Content integrates principles from neuroscience, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and recovery-oriented treatment planning. Clinicians will leave with concrete tools to enhance engagement, strengthen relapse prevention planning, and support sustained recovery across levels of care.

Learning Objectives:
After attending this training, participants will be able to:

1. Describe relapse as a predictable and preventable process consistent with the relapse progression model.

2. Identify common early warning signs of relapse, including emotional, cognitive, and behavioral indicators.

3. Apply structured relapse prevention strategies to support patient engagement, treatment planning, and sustained recovery across levels of care.
