Montgomery's Clothbound Cheddar Cracking at The Son of a Butcher

Join us at our monthly cracking on Thursday, May 22nd at 5:30pm to view the art of cracking open a wheel of Montgomery's Cheddar from Somerset, England. This free event is open to the public and will include samples, pairings, and refreshments with plenty of cheese available for purchase.

Montgomery's Cheddar from Neal's Yard Dairy is a renowned English Clothbound Cheddar with a history spanning three generations of the Montgomery family. This cheese has been made on Manor Farm in North Cadbury, Somerset since 1911. Neal's Yard Diary has partnered with this family farm where their expert producers visit Manor Farm to select the wheels that fit their desired profile for aging. They select rich, brothy, savory flavors with a crystalline texture that melts in your mouth. This cheddar is aged until it's two years old, to allow the deep and complex flavors we so enjoy to develop. We can't wait for you to try this outstanding cheese, especially if you came to our cracking in April, so you can compare it to a Domestic Clothbound Cheddar.
