[FREE] A Celebration of Life for Jason Hamric

With the heartbreaking loss of our dear friend Jason Hamric, we invite you to join us for a Celebration of Life this Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Saturn. We’ll gather in the venue to honor his legacy with loud music, barbecue, and memories from the community he helped build and sustain.


Jason was a huge part of both Bottletree and Saturn. Many of you know him as the founder, along with his beautiful wife Jackie, of Substrate Radio. But he was also so much more: a gifted musician who played in countless bands, a brilliant mastering engineer, a producer and sound wizard, a deeply talented photographer and videographer, a tinkerer of electronics, and a dessert creator. Most of all, he was a loving husband and a true force for good in the universe.


For over four decades, Jason was an essential pillar of Birmingham’s creative scene. He lifted others up, forged connections across worlds, and helped shape this city’s musical and cultural fabric without ever asking for recognition.
