One from the Heart (1981)

This August, the Drexel Theatre presents a program dedicated to one of America’s filmmaking legends with “Francis Ford Coppola: Beyond Godfather.” Focusing on Coppola’s work outside of his seminal gangster trilogy, we’re screening two ’70s masterpieces, an underloved ’80s curio, and a gothic ’90s spectacle.

ONE FROM THE HEART: Set in a dreamlike Las Vegas, One from the Heart tells the story of a couple (Teri Garr, Frederic Forrest) who separate on their anniversary and explore life with new lovers (Nastassja Kinski, Raul Julia). This stylized romance costars Harry Dean Stanton, Lainie Kazan, and Allen Garfield. Featuring a soundtrack by Tom Waits.
