The Pollinators

This National Pollinator Week, join us for a screening of “The Pollinators,” a gripping documentary that follows the journey of migratory beekeepers as they transport billions of honeybees across the country—an essential but imperiled process at the heart of our food system. The film sheds light on the growing threats to pollination, from habitat loss and pesticides to the pressures of industrial agriculture.

The evening will begin with a brief introduction by Natalie Izlar, Botany Technician for Virginia Working Landscapes, a program of the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute. She’ll share insights from her research on native pollinators and the plants that support them.
