World Series of Birding - Introductory Walk

Welcome to the World Series of Birding Introductory Walk!

Come join us at New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary for a fun and educational birding experience. Whether you're a seasoned birder or just starting out, this event is perfect for all levels of bird enthusiasts.

During this introductory walk, you'll have the opportunity to learn about the World Series of Birding and the diverse bird species that call the sanctuary home. Our experienced guide, Stephanie, will help you spot and identify various birds while sharing interesting facts about their behaviors and habitats.

Don't miss this chance to connect with nature and discover the beauty of birdwatching. Grab your binoculars and join us for a morning filled with birding adventures! No worries if you don't own binoculars we have loaner binoculars for you in our Nature Store!

Make sure to wear sturdy shoes as we may be walking on trails and uneven ground.

Please meet in the lower parking lot.

The walk is cancelled if there is snow, rain, or weather warnings.

Registration required before the walk.

COST: Free for everyone! Donations to our WSB teams are appreciated but not required.

Please bring binoculars if you have them. Loaner bioculars will be available.

CANCELLATION: NJ Audubon’s programs require a minimum number of registrants to run. If we cancel, due to lack of participation, severe weather, or unforeseen circumstances, all participants will be notified as soon as possible and are eligible for a full refund. Participants may cancel without penalty if greater than 48 hours in advance. Sorry, no refund for cancellations less than 48 hours in advance unless due to health emergencies; however registrations can be transferred to another program in the future.
