We invite you to the tea shop before our opening hours. Together we will share tea, movement, learning, and connection to start our Sunday morning!
Theme: "Comparing Brewing Vessel Materials"
Taste side by side & Learn the nuances! It will be a unique tasting that highlights the impact of brewing vessel materials on flavor, aroma, and texture—an experience for curious tea drinkers and enthusiasts alike.
Local ceramicist David Lyon joins us to discuss different materials used for tea brewing vessels, including teapots and gaiwan. We will look at different teaware brought in by David and the Teance team, including Yixing clay teapots and ceramic gaiwan. Please feel free to bring your teapots, gaiwan, and teaware to compare as well!
Opening Flow tea session - gentle movement, breathing and tea to bring awareness to our bodies and what we are experiencing.
Middle Flow tea session - explore how the same tea transforms when brewed in different material vessels.
Closing Flow tea session - reflection about the teas we are tasting and what is emerging for us this autumn season.
I’ll see what teas flow into my mind that morning… expect a few off-menu surprises!
