"I Can't Go On, I'll Go On" Preview Dinner Fundraiser

This exclusive event will take place on the eve of the "I Can't Go On, I'll Go On" opening, set amidst the gallery's artworks. Guests will enjoy a first look at the upcoming show, engage with the curator and featured artists, and explore the show's themes. The evening promises lively art discussions with fellow enthusiasts, all while savoring a delightful family-style meal prepared by chef Mushi Wooseong James (who is the head Chef and Creative Director at the Djerassi Resident Arts Program).

The format includes a relaxed preview, brief insights from the director and curator, talks by select artists, and culminates in a communal meal and conversation centered around the show. The dinner is $125 per person, contributing to the show's expenses and enriching our artistic community. We are only selling 25 tickets to this intimate evening, so get your tickets before they sell out.

The word ‘sustain’ suggests persistence and endurance. It’s durational: a sound, a gift, an action. While it’s rooted in care and nourishment, it also recognizes that we survive hardships that leave physical or emotional scars. What links these definitions is the need for community and connection to actively navigate the challenges of everyday life.

I Can’t Go On, I’ll Go On borrows its name from a phrase about perseverance by Samuel Beckett. Whether exploring legacies of the past that are carried into the present, showcasing different flavors of sustenance, or reimagining social frameworks that can reshape the future, the artists in the exhibition recognize the importance of nurturing a collective web of support as well as acknowledging how one is situated in the world. To sustain is not just to exist, but to resonate through time. In our current economic, political, and ecological climate, this work is more necessary than ever.
