Haas Impact Fund Pitch Day 2025

Hear from our MBA Student Venture Partners as they pitch five early-stage startups that are tackling the world’s most pressing challenges to a panel of impact investing industry judges. The winning team’s company will receive a $75,000 investment from the Haas Impact Fund.

Keynote Speaker - Mr. Gita Wirjawan

Founder and Chairman of Ancora Group and Former Minister of Trade of Indonesia

Gita Wirjawan is the founding partner of Ikhlas Capital and chairman of Ancora Group, an Indonesian business group he founded in 2007 with interests in real estate, natural resources, arts, and technology.

He has held key public service roles, including Indonesia’s Minister of Trade (2011–2014), Chairman of the Investment Coordinating Board (2009–2011), and chair of the 159-nation WTO Ministerial Conference in 2012. He also led Indonesia’s national badminton association from 2012 to 2016, during which the country won multiple international titles, including gold at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

As an investment banker, Gita held senior positions at Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan, advising on mergers, corporate restructuring, and financing. He served on various boards, including as commissioner for Pertamina and independent director for Axiata Group Berhad.

Gita hosts the "Endgame" podcast on Southeast Asia’s growth, is a visiting scholar at Stanford’s Precourt Institute for Energy, and is involved with the Angsana Council and Macro Advisory Partners. He holds degrees from the Harvard Kennedy School (MPA), Baylor University (MBA), and the University of Texas at Austin (BSc).
