FIPPP is back on stage this autumn with our first fall Solo Sunday Salon at Berkeley Rep's School of Theatre on Sunday, September 28!
The Formerly Incarcerated People's Performance Project (FIPPP) kicks off the fall Out There in the World tour as we work our way up to our 3rd FIPPP Festival in January 2026.
The Lineup*:
On Stage: Pamela Ann Keane, Tony Cyprien, & Algiin Ford, hosted by Mark McGoldrick
At FIPPP, we believe live performance and theater should be accessible to everyone. So we are offering sliding-scale priced tickets (from $10-$20) and also have a few generously donated tickets to ensure everyone who wants to join us, can join us. No one will be turned away from a FIPPP performance due to a lack of funds. We would love to have you in our audience to see these powerful performances.
If you would like to receive one or more free tickets that have been donated by other patrons, please send us an email at aW5mbyB8IGZpcHBwICEgb3Jn and we will work to get you into the show of your choosing discreetly and confidentially. If you would like to secure a seat for someone who may be short on funds, you can pay it forward by purchasing a Pay-It-Forward ticket when buying your own ticket.
There is no age minimum for attendance at our festival. However, these stories include frank portrayals of the causes and impacts of incarceration, including descriptions of physical violence, substance abuse, and racial trauma. That said, these stories are rich with humanity, insight, and redemption, and are highly recommended for teenagers and up. *Our lineups are subject to change.
Produced by Mark Kenward, with co-direction by Rebecca Fisher, Wayne Harris, and Mark McGoldrick, and additional coaching by Dan Hoyle, Candace Johnson, and Dylan Russell, each FIPPP performance is crafted using improvisation and storytelling techniques and each of our fellows brings their own unique experience of circumstance, heartache, learning, and redemption.
With the pressing issues of mass incarceration, solitary confinement, reentry, and justice reform on both the local and national agendas, these stories of incarceration and reinvention give an invaluable insight into the conditions in Pr*son, the post-Pr*son experience, and life behind bars for the people who serve time and their families that serve along with them.
