Please join us to celebrate BAHA’s 50th Anniversary at a spring fundraising event. Professor David J. Teece has generously offered his gorgeous Wintermute House estate for BAHA’s afternoon reception. John Hudson Thomas designed this gracious residence in 1913. It is his grandest commission in both scale and budget. The estate is listed for sale for the first time since 1983, and this reception is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the Wintermute House before it is purchased and placed again under private ownership. You will have the opportunity to tour the main floor of the mansion, which includes a conservatory with almost 20-foot-high windows. You’ll see rare, beautiful Arts & Crafts mahogany trim and glasswork by artisans from early last century. The expansive grounds covering approximately 1.5 acres will also be available to tour. BAHA will be serving hors ’oeuvres. And as a special treat, Dr. Teece has donated wine from his New Zealand winery, Mt. Beautiful.
The entry is on Vicente, around the corner from Tunnel Road. Parking is very limited. Use of carpooling or uber is recommended. Vicente is a steep hill and there are large lawns outdoors on the estate. Flat heeled, good walking shoes are recommended.
Buy your ticket early as we anticipate that they will sell out quickly! There will not be any ticket sales at the door.
