Velkommen til en samtale mellom årets festspillutstiller Tori Wrånes og Bergen Kunsthalls utstillingskurator Silja Leifsdottir.
Årets Festspillutstilling forvandler våre fire hovedsaler eller en omfattende installasjon – en levende scenografi og en endeløs konsert. Tittelen «Moon Bag» peker på et hverdagslig objekt og en symbolsk forestilling – noe man bærer med seg og håper har verdi. Men håpet eksisterer aldri i et vakuum – i selve ordet ligger skyggen av dens motpol.
——— Om kunstneren
Tori Wrånes (f. 1978) bor og arbeider i Oslo. Hennes arbeider har vært vist blant annet på Accelerator Stockholm, Performa 13 New York, Lilith Performance Studio, Malmø, Biennale of Sydney, Lagos Biennale, Thailand Biennale og Palais de Tokyo i Paris. Wrånes skal sammen med Klara Kristalova og Benjamin Orlow representere den nordiske paviljongen under den 61. Veneziabiennalen i 2026, kuratert av Anna Mustonen.

Welcome to a conversation between this year's Festival Artist, Tori Wrånes and Bergen Kunsthall's Exhibition Curator, Silja Leifsdottir.
The Festival Exhibition transforms our four main galleries into a vast installation – a living stage or an endless concert. The title ”Moon Bag” refers to an everyday object and a symbolic notion – something one carries that is hoped to have value. But hope never exists in a vacuum – the word itself evokes the shadow of its opposite.
——— About the Artist
Tori Wrånes (b. 1978) lives and works in Oslo. Her works have been shown at venues including Accelerator Stockholm, Performa 13 New York, Lilith Performance Studio, Malmö, the Biennale of Sydney, the Thailand Biennale, and Palais de Tokyo in Paris. Wrånes, Klara Kristalova, and Benjamin Orlow will represent the Nordic pavilion at the 61st Venice Biennale in 2026.

Plattform is Bergen Kunsthall's series of lectures and debates. This summer, we present talks and conversations in connection with the exhibitions of Tori Wrånes and Rindon Johnson. The Plattform events are streamed live on our website, Facebook, and Vimeo.
