Charlotte Besuijen - Creatures and Clouds

Charlotte's work is inspired by the idea that any material can be a material to make art with. With her work she aims to make the creation process visible. Her practice includes screen-printing, site specific installations, illustrations, photography, drawing, film, collage and papier-mâché sculptures, as well as an interest in collaborating with others.

CLOUD-series is made of paper-maché, balloons, screen-prints, found materials and photographs. These sculptures resemble clouds. They remind of lying on your back on the beach while recognizing the shapes of different creatures.

Simultaneously Charlotte is exploring screen-printing. Her prints are based on paper-scraps left over after making collages. Some resemble creatures, teardrops or clouds. Through screen-printing, they come together in a playful and intuitive way, revealing new images.

Together these works aim to engage the viewer with their personal imaginations.
