"I learned it from Minecraft" - An intro to Blacksmithing with Bob Montgomery

Do you get excited by blacksmithing in your favorite games or shows, and want to explore how it really works? Come spend an afternoon with Bob Montgomery, a local artist and blacksmith, as you learn the basics of the craft using a real coal forge!

Part demo, part hands-on - Bob will cover the entire process, with participants getting anvil time to work out their own hook.

Minimum age of 13. Must wear appropriate clothing for being around fire - closed toe shoes, hair pulled back. We have eyes and ear protection available if you'd like.

Bob Montgomery specializes in hand made wrought iron, sculptural pieces, teaching, and blacksmithing demonstrations. Bob runs Wolf Gap Mountain Forge, located outside Berea, KY.
