4 weeks - Intro to Handbuilding Pottery
Handbuilding is a relaxing and forgiving way to try pottery without the wheel, while also allowing you to get creative and decorative. Learn the step-by-step fundamentals of pinch pots, coils, and slab construction to create items such as mugs, vases, bowls, plates, platters, and planters. Then, learn to decorate and glaze your projects. This class is perfect for beginners or those wanting to sharpen their skills.
Day 1, August 11th, 10am-12pm: Create items using pinch pot and coil techniques.
Day 2, August 18th, 10am-12pm: Create items using slab techniques.
Day 3, August 25th, 10am-12pm: Potter's choice! Create a project using the technique of your choosing.
**NOTE: We will skip one week to allow time for pottery drying and bisque firing**
Day 4, September 8th, 10am-12pm: Learn and apply stoneware glazing techniques.
Price is $160 per person and includes clay, all tools, glazing, and firing services. Pieces created will be dishwasher, oven, and microwave safe. Final pieces will be ready for pickup 2-3 weeks after the final class.
Additional Information:
-This class is for ages 16 and up. All under 18 must attend with a participating adult.
