Learn your new favorite hobby! In this series, students will learn how to throw on the potters wheel, trim, and glaze their own pottery pieces. Perfect for beginners or those wanting to sharpen their skills.
Night 1, August 12th, 6-8pm: Students will learn to wedge clay, center on the wheel, and create simple cylinders.
Night 2, August 19th, 6-8pm: Students will learn to trim their pieces from the previous week, then continue wheel throwing simple forms such as bowls, cups, and small vases.
Night 3, August 26th, 6-8pm: Continued throwing and trimming, then, learn to attach handles and ad surface decorations.
**NOTE: We will skip one week to allow time for pottery drying and firing**
Night 4, September 9th, 6-8pm: Learn and apply glazing techniques.
Price is $200 and includes clay, all tools, glazing, and firing services. Pieces created will be dishwasher, oven, and microwave safe. Final pieces will be ready for pickup 2-3 weeks after the final class.
Additional Information:
-This class is for ages 16 and up. All under 18 must attend with a participating adult.
-We recommend wearing comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and closed-toe shoes for safety.
-It's essential to tie back or secure long hair, and we recommend having short nails for wheel throwing.
-Students are encouraged to bring their own hand towels to class. Aprons will be provided.
-Enrollment fee is non-refundable if cancelled within 7 days.
