Introduction to Shamanic Journey.

Shamanic Journey is the use of a tool (in this case a drum) to induce altered states of consciousness where we can receive healing, spiritual guidance, and clarity. Entering into trance using a drum involves first asking our higher powers, God, our ancestors, and guardians\guides for protection and guidance, having a clear intention for the journey, relaxing your body, listening to the drum, and opening up your mind. The drum beat induces theta waves in the brain which have been shown to induce visions and sometimes astral projection.

Shamanic Journey is one way to connect to the divine nature in ourselves and all of nature. Common experiences have been passed down through time from different animist (shamanistic) cultures; spirit guides, animal guides, beings of light and darkness, the Upper World, Middle World, Lower Word just to name a few. Asatru, Tengrism, Taoism, Shinto all have similar practices involving trance work.
