Grief and Solidarity Days Gathering

Welcome to the Grief & Solidarity Days Gathering! Join us at the East Bend Library for a time of reflection, healing, and community support. To everyone and anyone longing for a more liberated world: You are invited to gather and honor your heartbreak. Grief is not what pulls us away from the movement, it is what roots us deeper in care. And we were never meant to carry it alone. No matter your gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or abilities, you are welcome.

This in-person event is a safe space for sharing stories, connecting with others, and honoring those people, places, experiences we have lost. Together, we will navigate the complexities of grief and find strength in solidarity. We create space to tend to our grief and invite our wholeness, and as Francis Weller says, "it gets us in touch with the aliveness, the electricity of being in this body and being on this planet... creating an internal sense of vitality and keeping the heart soft and responsive."

Inspired by Francis Weller's Six Gates of Grief:

1. Everything we love we will lose: loss of people, places, relationships & more
2. The parts of us that have not known love: grief from our outcast parts
3. The Sorrows of the World: grief over mistreatment of the natural world and injustice, the Dreaming Earth's grief
4. What We Expected and Did Not Receive: loss of village, purpose, and connection
5. Ancestral Grief: the losses and sorrows of our lineages, our Ancestors' grief over disconnection from us
6. The Harms We've Done: grief over the harms we've caused, either directly or through complicity in systems of supremacy
