ABOUT COMMANDER CHALLENGE
Commander is the most popular and widespread sanctioned Magic: the Gathering format, with flavourful 100-card decks spanning the entirety of Magic's history. Why not put your deckbuilding skills to the test in our Challenge event?! Play three games of Commander to showcase your deck's ability and gain the favour of your opponents, hopefully writing some stories along the way.
As Commander is a casual format, only a small prize will be awarded to the best performing deck. After each game, each player will vote for which of their opponents' decks they preferred - whether that be flavour, strategy, epic plays, or any other personal reason. The majority of prizes will be given to the players whose decks received the most votes over the three games - in Commander, fun comes first.
For this Final Fantasy event, please construct a deck whose Commander was printed (or reprinted) in Final Fantasy or its associated supplemental sets. If building a deck under these constraints is difficult for you, note that you can bring any FIN Commander precon as your deck!
ABOUT THE EVENT
The tournament will be run as 3 rounds of Swiss, meaning all players (excluding byes) will participate in each round. Prize support will be provided for the top performing players (subject to event turnout). A judge will be present at the event to run the tournament and answer judge calls. Downloading and logging into the MTG Companion app ahead of time is greatly appreciated as it speeds up the logistics of the event.
