Urban Depth in Watercolor: Drawing with Perspective

Whether you’re brand new to drawing or looking to sharpen your skills, this class will guide you through the fundamentals of 1-point and 2-point perspective—then show you how to bring your scene to life with expressive watercolor.

We’ll start with a relaxed warm-up to understand how perspective works, using basic shapes to build your confidence. From there, you’ll follow a step-by-step demonstration to draw a city corner or streetscape, using two vanishing points to create a sense of depth and space. Once your sketch is complete, you’ll learn simple watercolor techniques—like washes, shadows, and dry brush textures—to give your drawing color, character, and atmosphere.

By the end of class, you’ll have a finished piece that captures the charm of an urban scene, and a new set of skills to carry into your own artwork.

This workshop is designed for beginners but fun for all skill levels. No experience necessary, and all materials are included.
