BBNW Onward!

Brass Band Northwest closes our BelPres season with a concert of bright and exuberant works. Our program opens with the first movement of Brass Triumphant, a brilliant fanfare written for brass band competitions. Other highlights include The Unfortunate Traveler by Imogen Holst, daughter of Gustav. She writes in a style very similar to her father's incorporating folk-like material, but also has moments of pure descriptive fantasy. Music for a Festival by Philip Sparke and Onward by Washington composer, William Berry both offer captivating melodies and bright, jazz like textures.
