Marcia shares her life journey through music, exploring themes of love, loss, identity, and survival, inviting the audience to join her in the experience.
Growing up in a musical family in Southwest Victoria, Marcia was surrounded by music, laughter, and harmony.
She takes the audience through her journey, including her time with the iconic Goanna band in the 1980s. Known for their groundbreaking hit Solid Rock written by her brother, Shane Howard, Goanna’s influence was profound.
Marcia reflects on her experiences with the band, including their 40th Anniversary Tour in 2022. She also shares insights from her time navigating the male-dominated music industry and her deep connection to both Aboriginal Australia and Ireland, the land of her ancestors.
Her performances and recordings in Ireland have shaped her distinctive style, blending Celtic and folk-rock influences.
In 2020, Marcia spent time in Belgrave during the COVID lockdown, drawing inspiration for her latest album Everything Reminds Me, which reflects her incredible musical journey.
Having shared the stage with legends like Mary Black, Bob Dylan, and James Taylor, Marcia continues to shine. Don’t miss this intimate show with Marcia and her son, Liam Gubbins, on bass guitar.
