Mary Bergin is widely regarded as one of the greatest tin whistle players in the history of Irish traditional music. Born in Shankill, County Dublin, she began playing at the age of nine and went on to win the All-Ireland tin whistle championship in 1970.
Her groundbreaking solo albums Feadóga Stáin and Feadóga Stáin 2 are considered landmark recordings, showcasing her virtuosic technique and deep musicality. A founding member of the group Dordán, Mary blends Irish traditional and Baroque music with elegance and flair. She is also a dedicated teacher and a major influence on generations of whistle players.
