Museum Moments: WW2 with Rebecca Laverty, Curator of Modern History

Take a Museum Moment at the Ulster Museum! These 20-minute talks explore a range of fascinating topics and objects from our collection. With different speakers, experts and curators leading each talk, you’ll hear a variety of engaging, informative, and thought-provoking conversations, all set in various locations around the museum.

On Thursday 7th August, join Curator of Modern History, Rebecca Laverty, to discuss objects from our Second World War collection.

John Herbert (Bert) Hassard from Enniskillen was captured in Northern France in 1940 and sent to a Prisoner of War camp. Life in the camps could be difficult, but Bert and his fellow soldiers did their best to lift their spirits by organising entertainment such as plays. Please meet at the Ulster Museum reception for the talk.
