في هذا اللقاء بعنوان "كيف نعيد التاريخ إلى الجمهور؟"، يتحاور المؤرّخ شارل الحايك مع بلال الأرفه لي حول سبل إعادة ربط الناس بتاريخهم بعيدًا عن النماذج المدرسيّة الجافة والخطابات الرسميّة. يناقش الحوار أهمّيّة السرد، وتوظيف الوسائط الحديثة، ودمج القصص الشخصيّة والذاكرة الجماعيّة في تقديم التاريخ. كما يتناول التحدّيات التي تواجه المؤرّخ في مخاطبة جمهور واسع دون التفريط بالدقّة الأكاديميّة، والسؤال حول من يملك رواية الماضي وكيف تُكتب وتُقدّم.
In this talk titled "How Do We Return History to the Public?", historian Charles Al Hayek engages in conversation with Bilal Orfali about ways to reconnect people with their history beyond dry school models and official narratives. The discussion explores the importance of storytelling, the use of modern media, and the integration of personal stories and collective memory in presenting history. It also addresses the challenges historians face in engaging a broad audience without compromising academic accuracy, and raises the question of who owns the narrative of the past and how it is written.

شارل الحايك، أستاذ تاريخ، ومؤسّس منصّة Heritage and Roots باحث في الجامعة الأميركيّة في بيروت . معدّ ومقدّم برنامج "لبنان بقصّة" على شاشة LBCIيتركز عمله في جعل التاريخ والتراث بمتناول الجميع.
Charles Al Hayek is a historian, founder of the Heritage and Roots platform, and researcher at AUB. He is also the producer and presenter "Lebanon with a Story," a renowned program on LBCI. His work focuses on making history and heritage accessible to all.

بلال الأرفه لي باحث وأكاديميّ لبنانيّ، أستاذ كرسي الشيخ زايد للدراسات العربيّة والإسلاميّة في الجامعة الأميركيّة في بيروت ومدير مركز الفنون والعلوم الإنسانيّة ودار نشر الجامعة الأميركيّة في بيروت. متخصّص بالأدبين العربيّ والإسلاميّ، إلى جانب دراساته في القرآن، والتصوّف، والسرديّات.
Bilal Orfali, a Lebanese researcher and academic, is the Sheikh Zayed Chair of Arabic and Islamic Studies at the American University of Beirut, and Director of the Center for Arts and Humanities and the AUB Press. He specializes in Arabic and Islamic literatures, as well as the Qur'an, Sufism, and narratology.
