There are two parking lots, we park at P2; parking fee is €5 per
day, a payment card needed.

🎄OER 'T VELD WALK AND ORVELTE CHRISTMAS MARKET🎅
Join us for a lovely 6.5 km winter walk starting from P2 parking in Orvelte. We’ll follow part of the Oer't veld (Drenthepad) Route towards Rijntjesveld where we’ll visit the Iron Age Farm - a fascinating reconstruction of prehistoric life where you can see how people lived over 2 000 years ago.
It’s a shorter walk than usual as we want to take our time to enjoy Orvelte’s magical Christmas Market afterwards! 🌟
ORVELTE VILLAGE
The centuries old village was built on an esdorp dating back to the 10th century. An esdorp is a Dutch type of village found on sandy soils, characterised by a central village square called a brink. It is surrounded by farms and fields known as essen and is also known as a brinkdorp.
Orvelte is full of atmosphere with its monumental farms, cobblestone streets, boutique shops, craft workshops and in winter of course with a Christmas Market 🎄.
We will also explore Orvelte’s museum (free admission).
There are three cozy cafés and a bakery café where we can enjoy a warm drink or snack together in one of the cozy cafés ☕🍰 (table reservation required). If you’d like to relax at a café after the walk for a bite or a warm drink, please let us know when registering by email or Facebook Messenger (name and number of attendees).
