SHE RUNS is an international research network concerning safety for women runners, generating data in 14 countries worldwide about the cultural, political and geographical aspects of safety, risk and harassment that women face when running in public spaces.
The SHE RUNS research team invite stakeholders in fields including sport development, policing and crime, community, planning, public health and women’s advocacy to a one day workshop in Bedford to:
- hear about the work of SHE RUNS including qualitative data from women in Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire regarding safety and perceptions of risk when running
- discuss current and future policy and practice with representatives of other organisations engaged in supporting physical activity, women’s safety, and community
- help SHE RUNS understand policy and practice in our area before we create an international programme of policy-related work
Refreshments will be provided.
As this is a research project, a full information sheet and consent form will be provided to participants.
