Introduction to Clay Sculptures: Manta Ray

This class is beginner-friendly, and ages 10 and up are welcome. This class will allow people to learn some basic sculpting skills using clay by making a 3D sculpture of a manta ray. The class has two parts. During the class you will be making the manta ray. After the piece is bisque fired in the kiln, you can come in to glaze your piece during a time we are open and that works for you. Our open hours at Glassy Studios are Thurs - Sat 10:00am - 8:00pm. A studio staff member will be able to assist you with the second step during these times. The piece will be fired a second time with the glaze and then will be ready to take home! Throughout the class, students will also learn some basics of the science that goes into ceramics.
