Join us for an immersive, two part workshop focused on the timeless art of still life drawing. The workshop will be in our new Art Space at the Ken Nichols Centre (5303 50 St. Beaumont) on Saturday & Sunday, Sept 20th, and 21st, from 12 - 3pm on both days. The cost of the workshop is $45 for members; $55 for non-members for both days. An additional art kit may be purchased from the instructor, or you can provide your own supplies based on the list. With 8 years of academic training in fine arts and experience creating illustrations for private collections, public art initiatives and client-based commercial projects, Andre Nolerm will guide you through foundational techniques that bring everyday objects to life on the page whether you’re just beginning your artistic journey or refining your skills! You will learn essential observational drawing techniques, understand light, shadow and composition in still life, experiment with graphite or charcoal on midtown paper, receive instructor led demos and individual feedback, and take home a completed still life drawing ready for display!
An art kit may be provided at the class, for an additional $32. Kits must be ordered and paid for, by August 22/25. Otherwise, individuals will need to pick up their own materials based on the supply list. The art kit /supply list will include 1 pad of Mid-Tone Drawing Paper (Strathmore Toned Grey or Tan 9x12”, 1 graphite pencil set or 2 high quality charcoal pencils (soft & medium) 1 White Charcoal Pencil or Conte White, 1 kneaded eraser, 1 blending stump, 1 pencil sharpener, 1 rigid drawing board.
