One-Day Location Sound Workshop

Workshop Overview:
This dynamic 6-hour workshop combines lecture with practical exercises, focusing on the challenges and techniques specific to recording location sound. Participants will learn how to operate field equipment, manage environmental noise, and capture crisp, clear audio that enhances the storytelling of any project.
The session also includes a demonstration of various microphones, recorders, and mixing tools used in location sound, ensuring participants gain real-world experience.

Brian Maratea is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in location sound recording. His credits include “Logan,” “Dallas,” and “The Plot Against America” among others. Brian's years of experience on a variety of projects has informed his recent work teaching audio. Brian shares his expertise as an instructor in Houston Community College's filmmaking program enriching the next generation of sound professionals.
