Fiddler on the Roof Sr.

First UMC Beaumont presents Fiddler on the Roof SR. on August 16 at 2 pm & 6:30 pm in the FUMC Sanctuary.

A timeless story about love, marriage, family, and the complexities of “Tradition”, Fiddler on the Roof SR. is a perfect show for audiences of all ages. This 60-minute version of the timeless Broadway musical features performers over the age of 55, providing a new way to hear the beautiful story.

Set in the little village of Anatevka, the story centers on Tevye, an impoverished milkman, his wife Golde, and his five daughters. With the help of a colorful and tight-knit Jewish community, Tevye tries to marry off his daughters and instill in them a sense of tradition in the face of growing anti-Semitism in Czarist Russia. When he is faced with the reality that his idea of tradition might be different than his daughters’, Tevye must grapple with the idea that the world is changing, and so is he.

General admission tickets will be available for $15 online in mid-July as well as at the door. All proceeds benefit Once Upon a Dream Learning Center.
