- A NEW PROGRAMME -
‘AH ! SUN-FLOWER’
- musical settings of selections from William Blake’s ‘SONGS of INNOCENCE & EXPERIENCE ’, interleaved with music by Purcell, Debussy, Poulenc, Dutilleux and others, is a programme conceived for Mykhailo Sosnovskyy & Andriy Tkachuk, principal flautist and bassoonist of the Lviv National Philharmonic Orchestra.
Blake’s courageous writings against WAR, VIOLENCE & OPPRESSION and for the ONENESS OF HUMANITY will be constant themes of the evening.
Ian Honeyman will be singing the wonderful texts, and will also be supporting Andriy and Mykhailo at the piano.
These two fine musicians will be giving charity concerts, courses and orchestral sessions across Cumbria that week, raising money to assure the survival of the Orchestra in these troubling times, whilst raising awareness of the terrible plight of Ukraine.
