Hidden Figures of the South West is a portrait collection highlighting individuals in underappreciated professions in the South West of England brought together by photographer Caitlin Pharoah of Hummingbird's Photography.
Drop in to the foyer of Barnstaple Library between 10am & noon on Wednesday 25th June and meet Caitlin. Find out more about the people and stories behind the portraits, the inspirations behind the lens, and the importance of preserving endangered crafts and wisdom.
Caitlin will be joined by one of the Hidden Figures basket weaver & forest therapist Emma Capper who will give a hands on demonstration of her craft.
Hot drinks will be available for a donation at the weekly Wednesday Wellness Café in the foyer.
Explore the ground floor & first floor of Barnstaple Library for a selection of these portraits including conservationists, traditional artisans & artists, each contributing uniquely to our world. Tick each one you find off the list & write in the Visitor Book in the foyer.
The portraits will be on display during library opening times until the end of July 2025
