The inaugural Smiða Árferð (Makers’ Harvest) will be at the Ottawa Sportsman's Club in Pelkie, MI!
DO keep an eye on our website, especially close to the event date, for all the information that isn't finalized at the time of this writing such as the class schedule, and full food menus!
Come explore all things Metal Casting with our featured workshops, all of which offer participants an opportunity to create a souvenir:
- Early Medieval Bronzecasting
Experience the viking age/early medieval bronzecaster’s art with a hands-on demonstration workshop. Utilizing an authentic process with no modern tools or materials, participants will learn about the ancient craft of melting and pouring bronze, as it was practiced in and around the 10th century Nordic areas. Those who are interested may have an opportunity to cast their own souvenir, although the supply of prepared molds will be limited. Running the entire batch of molds will require most of the day, but participants may come and go as needed.
Material fee: $10.00 if you choose to cast a souvenir, otherwise FREE.
